Ceramic Wall | Shraga Weil & Moshe Saidi | Wall Art Investigation
A report detailing the history, original condition, and current state of the wall artwork 'Past–Liberation–Family–Sheaf'. The work is a ceramic relief created in 1969 by the artist Shraga Weil (1918–2009), a member of Kibbutz HaOgen, in collaboration with the artist Moshe Saidi of Kibbutz Kfar Menachem. It is installed on the southern facade wall of the cultural hall in Kibbutz HaOgen. The ceramic wall formed an integral part of the facade design of the Brutalist building, designed by architect Yitzhak Mor. It represents a clear example of the integration of plastic arts into building facades during the early decades following the establishment of the State of Israel. The report was prepared in 2024, commissioned by the Wall Art Survey in Israel of the Ben-Zvi Institute and The Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites in Israel.
